Akshaya, though most people call her Maya, is from India and a master’s student in Educational Psychology at Mississippi State University. Her research explores perfectionism, burnout, and how culture shapes international students’ educational experiences, with a focus on building more supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Beyond academics, Maya enjoys writing poetry, exploring cozy minimalist fashion, and cooking. For her, learning is like poetry itself—layered, creative, and full of discovery.
